Smart Glasses hackathon in SF using AugmentOS

Build smart glasses apps and agents.

On February 15-16, 2025, 40 cracked hackers will come together to in San Francisco to build smart glasses apps and AI agents.

AugmentOS is the open source operating system for smart glasses. With the launch of our 1.0 in January, the AugmentOS-SDK is now fully open and available for developers to build on.

Hardware

We have dozens of smart glasses of various kinds:

  • Mentra Mach1
  • Even Realities G1
  • Mentra Live

Displays, camera, microphones, speakers, etc. are all covered. Participants will have free reign to borrow/use these glasses during the hackathon.

Prizes

2nd and 3rd place winners will win a pair of Mentra Mach1 smart glasses.

First place winners will receive Mentra Live smart glasses a month before they’re available on the market.

Participants (You)

Successful applicants:

  • Are fired up to build the future. Smart glasses are the next personal computing interface, about to have the same societal-scale impact as smart phones.
  • Have some ideas. We’ll have a creative/team forming activity, but you should pull up with your own ideas – shared these in your application.
  • Can physically be in SF on February 15 and 16th. This is a smart glasses hackathon – we are using real hardware. Exceptions may be made for strong applicants who have/buy their own smart glasses beforehand.
  • Are technical. Not a hackathon for beginners.

Building

You’ll be able to rapidly build apps using the AugmentOS-SDK. Applications can either be built in the edge Java/Kotlin/React-Native SDK or in any language using the cloud SDK.
